It is with great pleasure that we welcome you and your child to the Disha Shishu Shiksha Niketan and thank you for expressing an interest in our School. We fully appreciate that choosing a school for your family is a complex and important decision.
If you do decide to join our school community we aim over the next few years to get to know your child as well as you do, provide them with the best education and help nurture and develop their personal and social skills. In order for us to achieve this, we need your help. You, as a parent, play a crucial and vital role in your child’s education and the school firmly acknowledges this. Our school works as a team in which parents, children, staff and organization are all involved in the education of our children. We believe that children learn best in a positive, encouraging, safe and secure atmosphere.

MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR
Dear Children,
The theme of the year is'' ROSE STAR ACADEMY''Let the flame of 'Curiosity; to search knowledge burn bright inside you. This flame will lead you to a path to attain enough 'Courage' to face the outside challenging world, overcome hurdles and shatter obstacles to attain your goals with utmost 'Confidence'.
With faith in God and yourself, Fortitude to face any situations, Focus on your goal to achieve success.
You should realize the value of your life and I am sure you will turn out to be a great person in future and hence any local issues should not disturb and distract your emotional stability. Be cool and allow time to settle the issues and do not be carried away by impulsive decisions. Be sportive and positive in case any correction is made on you by your parents/teachers. Be reminded of the fact that the future world is awaiting the great person in you so do not give room for any negative feelings, or thoughts to suppress the great personality in you.

ROSE STAR ACADEMY which was started in 5th April 2018 . The Child centered learning environment facilitates joyful schooling fulfilling the Founder's aspiration. The school follows west bengal board of primary education curriculum and offers activity based learning along with honing the skills of the students in various areas including sports, art, litterature and culture ,which moulds the students into responsible citizens of the future.

COURSE OF STUDY & CLASSES
The school aims at providing a very high standard of education and many features of modern school of repute have been introduced in the school. The school is a co-educational Bengali Medium school.
ADMISSION
The
prospectus and application forms are available on payment of Rs. 50/- The
application from for admission should be completed and submitted within the
date specified. The admission is strictly on the basis of merit. A child
seeking admission to PLAY must complete at least 3 (Three) years of age as on 1st
January of the year of admission.
Documents to be produced at the time of interview/admission:
1) Birth Certificate from
competent authority
2) Mark sheet of last qualifying
examination.
3) Pass certificate
4) Transfer certificate from the
last school
5) 3 copies of recent passport
size photographs.
6) Caste certificate from
competent authority if belonging to ST/SC/OBC/MOBC
7)
Note : Duly attested Xerox copies of
all the above documents must be submitted with the application forms. The
original copies of above documents must be produced at the time of interview.
ACADEMIC YEAR / SESSION
The
academic year of the school is from January to December with two mid-year
vacations (terminal Holidays) i.e. Summer vacation and Puja vacations.
FACULTY
The school has a very committed and dedicated team of well qualified teaching staff with adequate experience. They are periodically sent for training and in service programme such as seminars and workshops to help them improve their teaching and professional skills.
TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS
PLAY to
Class XII : Month-wise assessment.
Normally as soon as the assessment / examination are over, Student’s report card is handed over to the parents / guardians only preferably during parents teachers meet. A system of awarding of Gradation has been introduced in the school to motivate the children to continuously excel themselves.
HOME WORK
We believe homework covers any work or activities done outside
school and not just the formal written work which is often associated with
children. Throughout their time here, children will receive activities
(homework) to be done at home, such as learning words, reading their books and
playing number games. Spellings and times tables will also be set. Nursery
children have rhyme challenges and a speaking and listening focus. Reception
classes have a different focus each half term linked to speaking and listening,
maths, letter formation, CVC words or writing. Children will receive regular,
formal homework which is regularly monitored.
SCHOOL COUNSELLING SERVICE & REMEDIAL CLASSES
Special efforts are made to give personal attention to each and every student of the school so as to enrich his/her whole life. Counseling service is made available by the school for providing educational guidance particularly for the low achievers. Remedial classes are also organized for improving the performance of the low achievers / slow learners.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
A Student must put in at least 90% of attendance to be eligible for sitting in the final examination. Leave will be granted only on medical grounds and unavoidable circumstances. (medical certificate MUST be produced form a registered medical practitioner. A student must be present on the last day and opening day after all terminal holidays i.e. summer vacation puja vacation absence will lead to a fine of Rs. 50/-
PARENTS TEACHERS MEET
Parents-Teachers
meets are held periodically throughout the session to discuss different matters
relating to the development to the children and the school. Students’ Report
Book is handed over to the parents/guardians only preferably during parents
teachers meet. Parents are requested to follow the general instructions given
by the school through Hand Books meticulously. They can meet the Head of school
on specific days. and time as notified by the school. On other days, they can
meet him/her only with prior appointment.
Art improves cognitive abilities and encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Students develop the analysis, interpretation, and information-synthesis abilities that are necessary for success in any discipline through the creative process.

Dear Parents,
A refreshing start to the new academic year brings in hope of joyful learning and exploration of potential talents and varied opportunities.
Looking back on the last years, many things have been tried and the most successful things were the exercise to impart learning through classes, activities and establishing two-way communication which helped us to enhance the abilities and capacities of our students. We anticipate that together we create for our children a new horizon of learning and development.
